ABOUT RESCUE AUSTRALIA
the story of 'rescue australia'
Frank Clancy was born again, along with his wife Denny and family in 1967, at the Dandenong AOG church, now Faith Christian Centre. Frank had a life of depression and drunkenness following the trauma of the Vietnam war, and was saved, healed and delivered in the name of Jesus.
Since his conversion, Frank completed a degree at Harvest Bible College and became an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, planting a church in Cranbourne along with several other churches in Victoria and in the outback of Australia. Frank went on to become part of the AOG executive as well as serving eleven years as a Director with Teen Challenge and Cornerstone Dandenong.
A hallmark of Frank Clancy's ministry has been his heart to reach out to the addicted and victims of abuse with the power and love of Jesus.
It has always been a frustration for Frank that the church as a whole has neglected the example of Jesus Christ, in reaching out into the community. Luke chapter 10 moved him, in that Jesus was greatly shocked about the ripe harvest and the few labourers that were willing to go out. Along with this, Frank was always encouraged to see the overwhelming success of new believers using the power of God among the hurting and lost.
The terrible neglect for the abused and addicted Indigenous of Australia stirred up a fire in Frank to start what is now Rescue Australia. That fire endures to this day. Frank is constantly hosting and sending teams into the Australian outback to deliver and restore the nation's broken and forgotten people in Jesus, as well as establishing Churches in these remote areas.
Alongside 'Remote Rescue', the ministry of Rescue Australia is always establishing teams from various churches across Australia to go out into the streets, preach the Gospel and feed the lost soul. This has become a pillar value for all Rescue Australia church plants, as well as the ministry itself.
Luke 4:18-19 teaches that the anointing was for preaching to the poor and healing them.
Frank has also had an particular heart for the spiritually abused in his home state of Victoria, having always ministered restoration and renewed hope to many over the years. It was through responding to this great need that Frank began a new work in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. That work has since flourished and grown, seeing many restored to a first love passion in Jesus. After receiving a prophetic word from Ben Fitzgerald, Frank eventually handed the Church oversight to Daniel & Chelsea Hagen in 2013. The Church is know today as Fire Church Ministries, based in Seaford, VIC. This is Frank and Denny's home Church to this day, with Frank currently serving on the ministry's board of elders.
